RESORT ACTIVITIES

Misool is famous for its world-class diving, but if you think that is just for divers, think again. The house reef will treat snorkelers to frequent sightings of schooling horse-eyed jacks, hunting octopus, and huge schools of bumphead parrotfish. The North Lagoon is a great place to hob-nob with gentle green turtles feeding on seagrass. You’re also likely to run into baby black tip reef sharks in the shallows.

The house reef of Misool Eco Resort is a shore dive, easily accessed at any time from either the end of the jetty, from the dive centre, or the steps leading down from your water cottage and it is particularly well suited to photographers and those who enjoy observing unusual animal behavior. Some of 'guests' currently hosted by our resort's house reef are massive schools of fusiliers and horse-eyed jacks, huge shoals of anchovies, large groupers, black tip reef sharks, grey reef shark, mandarin fish, flasher wrasse, and innumerable species of nudibranchs and flatworms, as well. The nighthawk Epaulette -new discovering 'walking shark'-, is commonly seen on night dives on the house reef of Misool Eco Resort.

On the other hand the dive sites around Misool Eco Resort can offer untouched reefs festooned with massive gorgonian sea fans, wildly colorful soft corals and expansive hard coral gardens, plentiful of rich reef life because is established on a vast No-Take Zone where all fishing, cyanide fishing, bombing, shark finning, harvesting of turtle eggs and shellfish are prohibited.

Raja Ampat is an incredibly rich place to explore, both below and above the water. We offer a number of different experiences designed to bring you closer to Raja Ampat's flora, fauna, and history: kayaking and SUP experience, birding cruise, sunset experience, lagoon experience, etc.
